On Tuesday, March 28, 2023, a mother, grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Amelia Diane Faust transitioned to paradise. Amelia was born Amelia Diane Leaphart on January 7, 194 in Philadelphia, PA to Arthur Leaphart and Hattie Sneed. She was the third oldest child in a family of 8 which fortified her nurturing spirit. A true South Philadelphia native, Amelia was educated in the Philadelphia Public School system. She attended South Philadelphia High School. During this time, she began courting her childhood sweetheart, Robert "Bobby" Joseph Faust. The pair were inseparable and wed on July 23, 10bo. Their union resulted in the birth of 5 children; 4 sons Wayne, Calvin, Eric, Craig and a beloved daughter, Marsha. Throughout her life, Amelia maintained a close and personal relationship with Jesus Christ. She faithfully attended church with her late sister, Elizabeth 'Betty Fleet. Amelia and Betty proudly served on the Ushers Board, at Zion AME Church. On any given Sunday, you could find Amelia proudly marching down the aisles of Zion to Glad to Be in the Service. It was common to find Amelia laughing and cooking for her family. Her baked macaroni and cheese was second to none and spaghetti would transport you to Italy. Amelia was an avid traveler who favored vacationing in Las Vegas, Nevada with her loving sisters, Velda, Tuttie, and Betty. She also cherished her time in Atlantic City, New Jersey with her friend, Brenda Lewis. When she was not traveling or spending time with family, Amelia was laughing and telling jokes. Laughter radiated from Amelia, especially when sitting on the couch in her favorite spot while talking on the phone. She enjoyed talking on the phone with her sisters and trusted girlfriends. Amelia is preceded in death by her husband Bobby Faust, her brother Beard Leaphart, sisters Evelyn Green, Florence Durant, Betty Fleet, and brother Arthur Leaphart. Amelia leaves not to be mourned, but for her memory to be cherished. To witness the love of Amelia look to her children, Wayne, Calvin, Eric, Craig, and Marsha, sisters, Sara Dozier and Velda Williams, granddaughters, Waynetta, Angela, Oni: sha, Tomme, and Keisha, daughter-in-law, Sylvia Faust, son-in-law Adrian Adolphues, sister-in-law Joyce Leaphart, brothers-in-law George Dozier and Gordon Williams, a host of nieces, and cherished nephews, especially Kevin Faust and Tony Liggett, as well as cousins, and many friends.
