Angela Lanee Carter

January 29, 1969 — July 29, 2020

Angela Lanee Carter was born January 29, 1969 to the late Harry Harold and Leslie Carter in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. Her family and friends affectionately knew her as "Angel." Angela was educated in the Philadelphia Public School System where she graduated from south Philadelphia High School. The road to graduation was not clear-cut because during this time Angela Conceived a baby with Gregory Green. From this union a daughter, Akirah Carter was born. Angela was determined to finish school no matter what it took which included night classes. She was a shining example of perseverance, hard work, and a great mother. Angel was a firm believer in Jesus Christ and was baptized in 1989 at Nineteenth Street Baptist Church where the late Charles Walker, Sr. was Pastor. She later began attending The Revival Center Church under the tutelage of Pastor Lorraine Logan. Angel joined The Revival Center in October 2009. As her walk with the Lord grew deeper; she was baptized again, went down in Jesus Name, and received a refilling of the Holy Sprit on November 16, 2010. While she was willing to help in any capacity to better the Kingdom, Angel's heart and dedication was serving on the kitchen Ministry, where she oversaw the servers and directed the clean-up team. Angel held many positions and was a dedicated worker. She worked in various industries such as hotel hospitality, food services, and customer service. She held positions at the Sheraton Hotel, Woolworths, Wal-Mart, Many years at the Philadelphia Stock Exchange, and currently was working at Greater Philadelphia Health Action (GPHA) where she has been for approximately nine (9) years. Angel was known by all as having a jovial spirit, a beautiful smile, and a personality that lit up the room. Angel had a big heart, was always willing to listen to others and made everyone feel comfortable. She was truly a counselor to family and friends. She loved to "ride the white horse;" for those of you who know her, know what that means! She loved to cook and post her various dishes on Social Media, to share. Her favorite way to start the day was to post a selfie with the quote "Good morning family and friends." Angel left her marks with everyone she encountered. On the joyous day as she goes home to sit at her Heavenly Father's feet where her father Harry Harold; Uncle Derrick Carter; Grandmother, Katherine Carter, and other loved ones wait to welcome her to heaven. Angel leaves to cherish and honor her memory: her daughter, Akirah; her sisters, Robin (Donald), Nanette (Petey), and Amirah; Mother, Leslie Carter (Gilbert); Granddaughter, Kimora; Nieces, Amirah and Riley, Nephews, Amir and Khalani; three Aunts, Toni, Beatrice, and Catharine; three Great Aunts, Joyce, Barbra, and Flossie; one Uncle Russell; a special cousin on her father's side, Joseph; given our family dynamics, Angel had a special relationship with each cousin where they talked, laughed, and discussed some of the craziest things! She further leaves to cherish a host of family and lifelong friends
