Life Story
Betty Lou Lee was born on October 30, 1953 in Maple Hill, NC, the daughter of Sennie James and Mitchell Lee James. She is survived by her older brother Bruce Lee, her younger sister Velma Wooten, and her only son, Trennell Lee. She is also survived by her grandchildren Trennell Owens, Tyrelle Lee, Shantell Lee, Kimora Lee and Kayla Gwynn. Betty was loved by her cousins, nieces and nephews. In 1971, Betty moved to Philadelphia, PA and joined Praise Temple COGIC. After graduating from high school, Betty worked as a secretary at Presbyterian Hospital. In August 2001, she became a member of Faith Tabernacle COGIC and maintained loyal membership until her passing. Around 2006, Betty also became an office representative under Ronald G. Waters and Joanna McClinton for the state of Pennsylvania and maintained occupation until her retirement in 2018. Betty was truly dedicated to serving God and an active member as a block captain in her community through 12th district, neighborhood watch and crime prevention programs. She also enjoyed cooking for her family, friends, and loved ones.
