Carolyn B. Holloway was born and raised in South Philadelphia along with siblings James, Loretta and Amy, whom preceded her in death. This close- knit family and community provided her many enjoyable experiences, benefits and lasting memories, including the September 7th, 1956 marriage to her childhood friend, Henry "Mish" Holloway, who has been waiting 16 years in eternity for her. From this union they raised six children, including the deceased Kenneth Alexander Martin.
Carolyn loved the Lord. Her heart was a church- always generous in extending charity and acts of kindness- be it a smile, time, conversation, helping hand, as well as personal resources to others. Her fervent prayer: "Lord, forgive me; help me to do better today than I've done yesterday."
Anyone meeting Carolyn and capturing her attention in a conversation for more than several minutes would certainly hear her stating, "I have the best kids in the would."She truly affirmed this belief, which was evidenced by her personal conduct, self- care, compassion, discipline, encouragement, support and the unwavering, number one fan she was to each child. She always told her children that there is no one better than you, always look a person in the eye as a display of confidence, and take care of what you have been blessed with.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her husband, "Mish", and first born, Kenneth. She leaves to cherish her memory,'I love the best kids in the world' children:Beverly (Leroy), Hazel (Terence), Carolyn James/ Boonkie (Jackie), and David.
