Dorothy D. Miller

Dorothy Dorthea Stroud was born October 29, 1930 to Lula Viola and Henry Stroud. she was the second of 3 children, born to this union which included her older brother James Stroud and younger brother Walter Nathaniel Stroud Sr.

Dorothy aka "Dot" was educated in The Philadelphia public School System. Dot graduated from  William Penn High School in 1949 and worked as a Nurse's Aide at Pennsylvania Hospital after graduation.

Dot met and fell in love with Charles Allen Miller and the two were married in January 1954. from that marriage a daughter was born in February 1955 named Sheron Denise Miller.

Dot began her second career with the City of Philadelphia as a School Crossing Guard at the General George A McCall School in 1963. Her Career lasted over 30 years before she retired in 1992.

dot was preceded in death by her sibling, Walter and James.

Dot leaves behind to cherish her memory: Daughter Sheron, her grandson Geron, her granddaughter Mikki, her great-granddaughter Kennedy, sister Linda Phillips, sister-in-law June and nieces, nephews and great nieces, great nephews, godson and extended family and many, many friends.
