Dorothy B. Littles, was born on March on March 5th 1934 in Richmond Va. to Lester and Edith Barnes. She was the oldest of two children and played her big sister roll well. Dorothy was baptized at they Mt Tabor Baptist Church in Richmond VA, but eventually relocated to Philadelphia becoming a member of the Shiloh Baptist Church. Dorothy, Miss Dot, Mrs. Littles as some called her was educated in the Philadelphia public school system and graduated from South Philadelphia High School for girls. Dorothy developed her working skills at an early age working at a few of Philadelphia's most well known department stores. She eventually met and later married Joseph L. Littles on December 8th, 1954 who preceded her in death. From this Union four children were born Lorraine, Joann, Walter and Rosemarie.
Her favorite response to "How you doing Dot?" would be "holding on" because that's exactly what she was doing. Anyone who knew her, saw her as a strong-willed person that didn't take no stuff no matter who you were. She leaves to Cherish her memories One brother and sister in law Lester and Beverly Barnes Jr and one nephew Geoffrey. Three daughters, Lorraine, Joann, and Rosemarie. One son Walter. Six Grandchildren Nigel, Jason, Dawn, Ashley, Lashanna, and Kristen. Five great Grandchildren, JaBree, Saadi, Qasim, Nigel Jr., Drew. Two Great Great grandchildren Jarrek and Simone. Two sister in law, Wilma Burke from New York, Lucille Littles of Warrenton N.C.
