Elwood Nathaniel Harrison departed this life on Sunday, April 28, 2024. Elwood was born on November 23, 1940, in Philadelphia, PA to the late George and Catherine Harrison.
Elwood was educated in the Philadelphia school system.
He attended George G. Meade Elementary, Robert Vaux Junior High and Edison High School. He attended Temple University where he received his degree in Accounting. He has been a member of Northeast Baptist Church for over 30 years.
He served as a Deacon for several of those years. He was also a member of the Pyramid Temple Lodge 104. He was a 33-Degree Mason.
Early in Elwood's life, he worked at the Ford Motor company as an accountant. He would later establish his own business, the Harrison Accounts Associates for over 40 years.
Elwood was known for his kindness and gentle nature.
He cherished the moments he spent with family and friends.
He possessed the remarkable ability to engage in meaningful conversations with anyone he encountered, leaving a lasting impact through his intellect and genuine interest.
Elwood has a unique gift for making people feel comfortable and brightening their days with his presence. His indomitable spirit served as a guiding light, encouraging his loved ones to persevere through life's everyday challenges. Truly he was a force to be reckoned with.
Elwood is survived by his sons, Mylan and Darren Harrison; a daughter, Gail Ingram; and their mother, Ellen Harrison.
He is also survived by his sisters, Claretta Jones, Deborah Harrison, Cathy Palmer and Michelle Harrison; his partner, Margaret Bell; and step-grandchildren, Isaiah, lyana and Melvin Bell; grandchildren, Javell and Javon, Jada and Steven; great-grandchildren, August and Anthony.
