Gertrude Genevieve Gough Taylor was born May 11, 1946 to Clarence and Gertrude Gough in Philadelphia, PA. Trudy was the fourth of five children. She attended Philadelphia public schools and graduated from Onley High School.
Trudy married Freddie Taylor on May 20, 1967 and they were blessed with three children: Valerie, Sharyn and Jason.
Trudy enjoyed a career in health care, beginning at Parkview Hospital. She then worked as the office manager for OB-GYN Associates for nearly 25 years; she left in 1990, to move to Jacksonville, FL. Trudy worked as a medical secretary at Mayo Clinic for 19 tears, retiring in 2011.
Trudy had been an activer member of Cedar Park Presbyterian Church and later, Germantown Christian Assembly in Philadelphia. She joined Shiloh Metropolitan Baptish Church in Jacksonville, FL, were she was active in many ministries: New Member, Mission, and Senior Adult Ministry-Caring and Sharing.
Trudy lived her entire life according to God Word. She helped everyone, taking in extended family, encouraging, listening to and praying for others. She had a solid faith which served as her strength during varous illnesses. Instead of giving up, she continued to live life with a postive spirit and the desire to help others. Trudy also enjoyed studying the Bible. She combined herdesire to help others and love for Bible study when she enrolled in the Truth Bible College Seminary, where she earned a Master's degree in Christian Counseling in 2000.
Trudy leaves to cherish her memory her husband, Freddie; her children, Valerie Taylor-Samuel, Sharyn (Bernard) Nelson, and Jason Taylor; her grandson, Brandon Nelson; her rother, Leon (Victoria) Gough; her mother-in-law, Ernestine Taylor; a host of nieces and nephews; and a multitude of family and friends.
