Today we honor, celebrate and remember Gloria Allen-Carr. She was a women of grace and courage with a stubborn streak that showed up when she set her mind to something, Gloria Allen-Carr was born on April 25, 1950 to the late Juanita Marie Winslow and Elliott Allen in Philadelphia Pennsylvania. Her family affectionately knew her as "Aunt Gee" the aunt who loved to shop and always had a shopping bag with her. Gloria was educated in the Philadelphia public school system where she graduated from South Philadelphia High School.
Gloria worked exceptionally hard, working many years for the Ohio Insurance Company, which led her to work for multiple insurance companies throughout her career until her retirement.
Aunt Gee was known for her creative decorations and classy way of living. She would have never turned down a trip to the mall. Gloria had an eye for beautiful furniture and decor, if you think about it; it she truly missed her calling as an interior decorator. She went out of her way to make sure everyone was happy and had everything they needed. Aunt Gee had such a giving heart!
Gloria was proceeded in death by her beloved mother, Juanita Winslow and father Elliott Allen; her siblings; Cassandra, Melvena, Lucille, Alease, Phillip, Alfred "Skipper", Juanita "Tina", Darcellea "Ronnie" and Jovoie "Rita", Tony. She also leaves behind to cherish her memories family and friends.
