Helen Juanita Harding

On April 4, 1942, Helen Juanita Harding was born in Pleasant Hill, NC to the proud parents of Haley Surella and Howard Junius Harding. As a toddler, she enjoyed playing outside with flowers and plants and running through corn and cotton fields.

At the age of 5, the family moved to Philadelphia, PA. she joined Union Baptist Church and in her later years, Church of the Redeemer Baptist. she was active in the Sunday school and Choir.

She attended Landreth Elementary School, Barratt Junior High school and West Philadelphia High School. She graduated from Community College of Philadelphia and Powers Modeling School.

She enjoyed a long and illustrious career in the federal government. She started at the Department of Defense, Signal Corps, the Navy Yard and retired with the Department of Justice, Bureau of Prisons in NYC. Throughout her career she enjoyed working in various positions in financial management.

In recent years, her health declined then she moved to the Tucker House Nursing Home.

She leaves to mourn sisters, Vanessa and Margaret and her loving niece Katherine. She will be missed by a host of other family members, friends and co-workers.
