James Wilson Reid

James Wilson Reid, age 91, passed away peacefully on January 19, 2024, in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. He was born on March 31, 1932 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania to Rusha Z. Reid. 

He was a proud resident of Philadelphia and was educated in the Philadelphia school system. James took up a career as a machinist and initially worked at a machine shop located in South Philadelphia. He continued his career at United container for 15+ years. 

He was a huge Philadelphia Eagles fan. 

He was married to Melvina  B. Dickinson, until her passing in March 2008.

James was very outgoing and loved learning about historical events. He was a big collector of her loins, and he also loved to travel to different parts of the United States - whether it was going to the Melrose diner, or taking a road trip with one of his longtime best friends, Jesse Batton. His family in travel were his two biggest passions. James had a great sense of humor, and always had the ability to make people laugh and smile.

His siblings included; Geraldine(Arlene), Blanche, Rusha (Nicky), Gertrude, Mary, Robert, Dolores and Paul. His children, two of which preceded him in death: James Jr, and Steven. His remaining children are Michael, Robert, Emiliano, Giovanni, Charles, Rusha, and Walter; along with his only daughter, Teresa; as well as many grandchildren, great grandchildren, cousins, nieces, nephews, and a host of friends.
