Kenneth Franklin Jamison (Kenny/Kenn) was born August 14, 1962 in Philadelphia Pennsylvania to Vernell and William G Jamison Sr. He was the youngest of seven children born from this union. Growing up he developed a passion for community, science and politics that would be something special. He grew up in South Phila, attending South Philadelphia High School in the top part of his class. Among his many achievements was a scholarship to an Engineering summer camp.
Kenny had a poetic imagination. He was and always remained passionate about his causes. Among those causes are The Environment, Civil Rights, Human Rights and Abortion. But his main connection was that of the earth itself, which he cared about immensely.
He also had a fun side, he was also a Trekkie, and a devoted fan of Star Trek, and of Dr. Who, a time tracker who hiked the planets throughout the various galaxies. Yet he remained well grounded.
Kenny’s first job following high school was as a cashier at First Pennsylvania Bank. It was not to be his last. Counting money was not his cup of tea. He complained it made his fingers green. Afterwards he found his career as a printer, first with Pitney Bowes and finally with Color Reflections where he remained for over 20 years. It was his profession and job to which he was dedicated. It was also his nature to always work to satisfy any customer who came to him for service.
In fact, it was in Kenny’s nature to help anyone at any time who needed help with anything. He was quiet about it, a soft spoken and easy friend. Kenny believed in and practiced a certain harmony; with those around him and with the earth itself. He was an advocate of us not destroying our one planet and walked lately, leaving a low carbon footprint himself. He was a spiritual person, not believing in religion, but certainly believing in God, he especially seemed to see God in the sunrise. His favorite place to bear. Witness of God‘s existence was upon a vast ocean from the top deck of a ship; equally from the beach of Hanauma Bay on the island of Oahu, Hawaii, where all the promises of the universe seem to be fulfilled.
He leaves to cherish his memory three brothers (Bill/Nadine, Harold, Butch/Delores), one sister (Eleanor), nephews and nieces, who grew up together in the same household as brothers and sisters (Scott, Patricia, Michele, and Elizabeth). A host of cousins, nephews, and nieces to numerous to name. Also includes a family at work, who truly cared.
