Lewis Anthony Bradley Jr was born in Petersburg, Virginia on May 22, 1924 to the late Lewis A Bradley Sr and Annie Bradley.
After high school graduation, Lewis was drafted into the US Army. Lewis served his time in World War Il for 2 years where he later came back home and met the love of his life the late Ida Wright in Pittsburgh, PA who preceded him in death.
The two married June 27th, 1946 and from their union Sandra, Lloyd, and Jacqueline were born.
Lewis started to attend Indiana University but finished his bachelors at
Duquesne University in Pittsburgh. The family moved to Philadelphia where Lewis obtained his master's degree from the University of Pennsylvania in early childhood education.
Lewis taught in the public-school district for over 40 years, teaching at McMichael Elementary and Paul Dunbar Elementary just to name a couple.
Lewis was known as Pop-Pop to all his grandchildren whom he loved to teach how to read, as well as teach math and history. Lewis enjoyed family functions and loved watching his grandchildren and great grandchildren grow up.
Lewis and Ida were inseparable. They loved to entertain and babysit their grandchildren and great grandchildren.
Lewis was a devoted husband, father, and grandfather to the entire Bradley family.
Lewis leaves to celebrate his gracious life, his children Sandra, Lloyd, and Jacqueline; nine grandchildren Monica Oliver (Tony), Anthony Bradley (Nikki), Markean Bryant, Michael Hatch (Jessica), Tisha Bryant, Renata Barnes (Ralph), Chenell Cook, Ivery Bradley, and Vanessa Bradley; eighteen great grandchildren; 3 great great grandchildren; and a host of cousins.
