Phyllis was born April 14,1959 to the late William and Arlene Barry.Phyllis was raised in a loving household with her 7 siblings (1-brother preceded her in death as a baby) her childhood was filled with love and togetherness, weekend fun dancing and singing just with her siblings. Sunday morning the home was full with gospel music and the sweet aroma of Sunday dinners. Phyllis was educated in the Philadelphia public school system. She displayed a love for writing, she wrote and directed school plays that won awards. Later Phyllis’s love of people led her to get her nursing degree. She worked in many facets of the nursing field. She worked and retired from Children Hospital of Philadelphia. January 17, 1986 Phyllis married Steven Sabb the love of her life. Their love lasted through out 40 plus years. They lovingly raised 3 beautiful daughters together in a warm loving household, Kia Joyy, Sherita Patricia, Sherell Adri and lovingly helped raise their beloved grandson Quamir. In 1998 Phyllis joined True Gospel Tabernacle Church, she was very active in the church. Phyllis served as a deaconess and evangelist and was very active in her church responsibilities sharing in the prayer group. She would preach to others about her God and his son Christ Jesus. She loved engaging in Bible based conversation with family and friends. Phyllis was a soldier for God. In 2003 Phyllis work with the Gift of Life in support of her husband Steve.Phyllis leaves to cherish her beloved husband Deacon-Steven Sabb, and children Kia Joy, Sherita Patricia, Sherell Adri and step-daughter Shanda Steel Grandson- Quamir Steven 4-sisters Verlice, Debra, Tracy and Renee, 4-sisters in-law Patricia, Cheryl, Renee, Adri. 2-brothers in-laws William and Richard. 2-Sons in-laws Tay and Yusuf. Phyllis parents (William Sr. and Arlene Barry) along with 2-brothers (William Jr.(Billy)and Curtis), 1-sister( Linda) and 1-step-grandson (Daylan) preceded her in death. Phyllis will be missed by 7-Nephews and 6-Nieces and a host of great nephews and niece, aunts, uncles, cousins and friends. We will miss you now and forever until the day we meet again.
