Regina Budelle Short was born on July 6, 1968 in Philadelphia, PA to Carol L. Shirt and the late Johnnie Sims. On Tuesday, July 6, 2021 she passed away unexpectedly. God Sent an angel to guide his child home. Our loss is now Heaven's Gift!
During her formative years, Regina received her education in the Philadelphia School District where she ran track and graduated from northeast High School in 1986. She held employment for many years ay Marianne's in Cheltenham Mall, QCHC Clinic at 25th & Lehigh, Philadelphia City Revenue Processing and Rent-A-Center. She was also a Partner at Jay7 G's Barbershop and most recently worked as a home health care worker.
Regina accepted Christ as her Savior at an early age and was committed to working on her spiritual growth through the years while attending Trinity United Methodist Church recently named Servants of Christ UMC. Regina Knew that God loved her and was a guiding force in her life.
In her youth she met Ronnie Hammonds and from their partnership three sons were born, Tyrik, Brahim "Pooh Bear" and Tajh. One of her absolute greatest joys was being a boy-mom enjoying her son's activities in everything from little league football to boxing matches and everything in between. Whenever there was a family function Regina was front and center. She was most proud of her grandchildren and spoke of them with great admiration and always expressed how blessed she felt because of them.
Regina enjoyed close loving relationships with her family who also passed, particularly Mum Mum, Aunt Dottie, Uncle George, Aunt Jackie and Uncle Paul.
She especially loved her children and grandchildren and leaves to cherish her memory; three sons; Tyrik Sr., Brahim Sr. and Tajh. Elven grandchilden; Sanyiah, Ariana, Brahim Jr., Miraj, Ezra and a new blessing in November, granddaughter Baby Yae'Lynn. Life-partner; Jay, Mother; Carol, brothers; Warren, Hasan and Sean, Sister; Bernadette, Nieces; Aniya and Nasah, Aunts; Enid, Etta, Gloria, Areatha and Geraldine, uncles; Hampton and Cyrus, Special daughters; Shannel, Curtina and Ainya. She also leaves cherish her memory a host of cousins and friends who loved her dearly, particularly her best friends Linette, Sidra, San, Tammi, Lisa and Jamaine.
