Reuben Elliot White, Jr.,was born in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania on February 9th, 1933. He was one of nine children born to the late Reuben Elliott White, Sr., and Josephine White. Reuben was formally educated in the Philadelphia Public School System. He graduated from Edward W. Bok Technical High School, where he was an Air Policeman. He received an Honorable Discharge in 1956.
Reeuben loved family gathering, he loved taking photos of his family and friends, he loved reading, he loved to cook, he was a master on the Barbecue Pitt, in fact he was famous for his barbeque sauce, “Reuben’s barbeque sauce”, he loved eating seafood and enjoying good steak. He loved his children and was crazy about his grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
Reuben was employed as a Foreman at the General Electric Company, and the Trane Company, he also worked as a Telecommunications Technician at the LISN Company and finally, he worked as a Driver for Northwestern Human Services.
Reuben was preceded in death by his sisters. Marion Rice, Wilhelmina Wilson & Eleanor Mike.
Left to cherish Reuben’s memory and to continue his legacy with his soulmate, Direese Cooper; daughters, Marlene Sutton & Monique Spencer (Richard); sons, Barry Kelly and Reuben Elliot White 3rd (Sandy); grandchildren, Barry Jr., Jason, Ian, Breyana, Daquan, Byron, Isaac & Imani; great grandchildren, Kyng & Royal; one brother. Isaac White; Sister, Mary Wimbush (Mommy), Josephine Lee, Martha Sharp & Carolyn White and a host of nieces and nephews; cousins & friends.
