Robert Hoggard

Our Beloved Robert was born to the late Robert Sr. and Shirley Hoggard, on March 27, 1963 in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania. From the union of Robert Sr. and Shirley Hoggard, they had two children-Debra and Robert Hoggard. Robert was raised in the North Philadelphia area (known as Johnson Holmes) his family later relocated to Newkirk St off 29th Cecil B. Moore. Avenue where many of his family and friends still remain. Robert had a formal education and graduated from Benjamin Franklin High School in 1981. After finishing High School he decided to follow in the path of his father Robert Sr. and began working at the Philadelphia Housing Authority- PHA as a maintenance mechanic where he remained for over 30 years. Although Robert retired from PHA, he maintained a close relationship with his many of his work colleagues. Robert was one of the most beautiful individuals you could ever meet. Robert was a Man of God with many positive attributes. He was a bundle of joy and fun. Robert was a comedian at heart and there was never a dull moment. He had a smile that would light up the room. In addition, he was the life of the party and acquired many good friends over the years and was also a mentor to many. He loved to dress with style and class. Robert was a jack of all trades when it came to his house and would fix everything in the home. Robert was a good father and was very instrumental in his daughters singing and acting. Most importantly, Robert was a true man who provided for his family and made sure his wife was happy. Additionally, Robert was a hard worker in life, who spent his leisure time going out to eat, studying God's word, getting foot massages and listening to great music as well as singing and fishing. Robert is survived by his loving mother, Shirley Hoggard, his wife, Towana Hoggard, his five children: Latoya, Tesia, Shanae, Bobbi, and Robert Jr. his sister, Debra and Richard Benning (Brother in law) his sister, Lynn Ellis; His grandchildren Cali, Yashmal, and Zafira and Robert leaves a host of Aunts, Uncles, Cousins, Nephews, Nieces, and Friends.
