Philadelphia

TERRI DENISE JOHNSON, 58, passed away peacefully in her home in Southwest Philadelphia on October 11, 2024. She was born on August 30, 1966, in Philadelphia, PA, where she spent a life full of boldness, artistry, and service. Terri was a proud graduate of West Philadelphia High School. Following her graduation, she pursued a military career, serving honorably in both the U.S. Army and Air Force. Her dedication to serving her country was matched only by her passion for the performing arts. Terri trained in acting, singing, and dance, gracing stages such as the Philadelphia Playhouse and the Apollo Theatre. Her talents even led to an appearance in the movie "Birdy," starring Nicolas Cage. Beyond her artistic pursuits, she was known for her luck and joy in playing the lottery, hitting big multiple times. Terri's love for family was the guiding force in her life. She is survived by her three children: her eldest son, Brandon Johnson; her son, Anthony Johnson; and her youngest daughter, Sarah Johnson. She also leaves behind two younger sisters, Robyn Johnson and Zakia Johnson; her niece, Destiny Johnson; her nephew, Tio Brown; her aunt, Charlotte; and her uncle, James, all her cousins and her divinely anointed friend, Melvin Dorsey. She was preceded in death by her mother, Sarah Johnson, who passed in 2002, and her father, Darrell Fields. Terri will be remembered as a woman of integrity, strength, and kindness. She was a friend to all and a fearless advocate for her loved ones. Her unwavering faith in God was a testament to the purity of her spirit, and her legacy of love and resilience will continue to inspire all who knew her.
