William M. Davis, the son of the late James and Lucille Davis was born on June 5th, 1942 in Buena Vista, GA. He joined Mount Olive Baptist Church at the age of 9 in Tazewell, GA.
William attended Edison High School in Philadelphia, PA, where he graduated in 1959. He was then drafted into the US Army and was honorably discharged in 1966. He then attended the Philadelphia Wireless Tech Institute, where he received his certification for electronics. He also attended the Postal Training Institute for Electro-Mechanical Maintenance.
William, who was affectively known as "Billy," had an extensive work career, which began with the City of Philadelphia Streets Department for 2 years before going to the United States Postal Service, where he would worked for 41 years as an Electrician until Retirement. He also managed the Family business for the past 11 years, which included maintenance as well as property management.
Billy was preceded in Death by: his daughter, Sonja Brown; Loving Wife, Brenda Davis; and Grandson, Reginald Smith. Billy leaves to cherish fond memories: his son, Guy Davis; brother, Edward Bryd; sister-in-law, Louise Bryd; granddaughter, Darshenna Doss/Cedric Doss; 1st cousins, Rev. Brenda Poole, Berry Thomas, Gwendolyn Allen, and Kenneth Stallings; special nephew and niece Bryan Garner, Cherie Boyd, and Chenell Bryd. With a host of Nieces, Nephews, cousins, and great-Grandchildren. Including a special cousin, Michelle, and friends.
